This concert is offered as a gift to the Tallahassee Community in recognition of the Centennial of the Rotary Foundation and its mission of “Doing Good in the World.” A reception will be held from 6:30 to 7:00 pm and local Rotarians will explain how their Clubs promote peace and conflict resolution. Marvin Goldstein is a world-renewed concert pianist who has performed for over 50 years. In addition to performances from cultural groups and table displays from student and community organizations (IATLH will set up a booth during this event), the International Bazaar also features a variety of international foods to sample for $5 per plate.     • Saturday, June 4th, 2016: Devi Mahamaya - Hindu Temple of Tallahassee is organizing "Devi Maha Maya", a musical mythological play in English based stories from "Devi Bhagavatam" with the central idea that the supreme takes feminine form to protect the devotees and to destroy the evil. This play is by Atlanta based group which has credit of having staged over 25 mythological and historical plays to broadway show standards with phenomenal music and choreography, costumes, stage props and actors. Tallahassee needs to be proud of this event since the music for this play is composed and conducted by a Tallahassee resident. Venue: Lee Hall Auditorium on June 4th, 2016 at 2PM. Event flyer.       Telegu Music Program for charity of Vegesna Foundation. This charity works for orphans and physically challenged children, provides them food, clothing and shelter and most importantly gives them some kind of vocational training in skills like accounting, computers, teaching etc. and trains them to be fruitful citizens in the society. Many of its children/students are stable working professionals in India and some of them are even sent to other countries like U.S.A. by their employers/companies. Many of them are married and leading a normal life with children in the society. This organization, as usual, brings talented and reputed singers from India and gives free music pgms here. The admission is free for public, but they appreciate any voluntary donations from the audiences. The singers will sing on tracks, mostly Telugu old and new film songs. Since music is divine and it does not have any specific language we request everyone to attend and support this noble cause. More info

      Sports association of Tallahassee (SAT) invites you all to participate in their First ever tournament for Volleyball. Around 10-12 teams are expected to participate. Each team should have minimum of 4 players and the maximum of 6 players. All matches will be played in Sand Volleyball Court.     Screening of a small short film DDay (approximately 30 minutes) made by Mr. Ramesh Manyam of Atlanta. The admission is free. The name of the film is Dday and it displays the cultural clash between the immigrant parents and their American-born children on a Prom day, something which every one of us can relate to. It is in Telugu, but English sub-titled and can be understood easily by children and other non-Telugu speaking people. This film has been screened at several cities/places and acquired a lot of acclaim from different groups of people.
